Background[1]

Blocks with defect groups [math]C_p[/math] were studied by Brauer in [Bra41], where the number of irreducible ordinary and Brauer characters determined, and what is now called the Brauer tree introduced. Brauer's work was extended to arbitrary cyclic [math]p[/math]-groups in seminal work [Da66] of Dade, making use of [Th67].

The indecomposable modules for a block with cyclic defect groups were determined by Janusz in [Ja69] and Kupisch in [Kup69].

The source algebras of blocks with cyclic defect groups were determined by Linckelmann in [Li96].
