Background[1]

Blocks with defect groups [math]C_p[/math] were studied by Brauer in [Bra41] and the number of irreducible ordiniary and Brauer characters determined. This was extended to arbitrary cyclic [math]p[/math]-groups in seminal work [Da66] of Dade, making use of [Th67].

The indecomposable modules for a group with cyclic Sylow [math]p[/math]-subgroups were determined by Janusz in [Ja69] and Kupisch in [Kup69].
